About Joanna
I am an MFA Candidate in Fiction at New York University with a BA in Literary Studies from the New School. I teach Creative Writing at NYU. I have been published in several magazines and literary journals and have taught creative writing or been a teaching assistant for two years.

I teach creative writing (fiction and poetry) to undergraduates at New York University. My class is a mixture of lecture, discussion, and workshop. In lecture, I talk about history, aspects of writing such as narrative structure, plot, and flow. I rely on question-and-answer techniques in order to get students thinking about material they have read before class. I also do a lot of drawings which help plot out the structure of a piece of writing to show how it works.
