About William
I grew up in a mandarin speaking family. As such, even though it is said to be one of the hardest languages to learn, it was no trouble for me at all. When I grew up, I decided to delve deeper into why it is so easy for children to pick up their 1st language, and it fascinated me. I always integrate my findings into my teaching methods, as learning languages should be fun, as well as a daily habit.

My course structure will revolve around putting my students in a course structure that will challenge them, but not to the extent of them feeling lost. For example, for Mandarin, instead of learning random vocabulary, I ask my students to think of a daily situation like cooking in the kitchen, and make a mind map of the nouns and verbs specific to that situation. Also since mandarin has a completely different system of language, spaced repetition is key.
