About George
I am a mechanical engineering student, in my second year of studies at the University of Bristol, where I am undertaking a Masters Degree. I studied Maths(A*), Physics(A*), D&T(A) and Further Maths(B) at A-Level at Bryanston School.
I have experience in my school teaching younger students maths lessons and have done tutorials with students of GCSE standard and below. I am able to teach Maths and Physics up to A-Level.
I have worked alongside my father who is a full time maths teacher and tutor in order to gain first hand experience.

To start a class with someone new, I will spend 5-10 minutes getting to know them, trying to learn as much as I can about their enjoyment, confidence and ability in the subject. Before teaching, I like to email them to discuss any topics they need working on and what grades they would hope to achieve in the subject as a whole. After I have got to know them a little, I will set the student a few problems that we can work through together, adjusting the problems to how easy/difficult they are finding them.
From here, I can focus on the larger problems in each topic, going through methods and examples together with the student, until I feel they have a stronger understanding of the chosen topic.
The amount of time I spend on each topic will depend on the student and the amount of topic we have to get through in the given time. I believe it is more beneficial to work with the student, explaining while asking them questions to check their understanding, and to build up a level of trust between us.
