About Chris
I achieved A*A*A in Maths, Further Maths and Physics A level and am interested in supporting ambition and independent learning in young people, and am currently building a social network to do just that.
I truly believe in my approach because it worked for me - pushing my understanding and reinforcing that through active recall was the key to my success. Many people say passively digesting information doesn't work for maths and physics - they're wrong. It doesn't work for learning anything!
Outside of that, I'm very interested in AI safety and nuclear history, having been part of the Non-Trivial Fellowship. I'm also a grade 8 pianist, and love cooking and photography.

My academic credentials speak to my capability: I achieved A*A*A in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics A levels, receiving a coveted offer from Cambridge University. At GCSE level, 8 out of my 11 grades were 9s, demonstrating consistent excellence across subjects.
But grades alone don't make a great tutor. My learning philosophy was shaped by my journey in mastering the piano, progressing through and beyond grade 8. This experience taught me the power of a targeted and structured approach. By focusing on specific techniques and problem areas with laser-like precision, I dramatically accelerated my progress. This method not only saved time but also amplified the satisfaction I felt in my achievements.
I'm intimately familiar with the Edexcel exam board for Maths and AQA for Physics, having studied these curricula in depth. This knowledge allows me to align our sessions closely with your syllabus, ensuring that every minute of our time together is relevant and valuable.
