About Tatyana
I am a successful communicator and a very good teacher. I studied at the Institute of Earth and Space Sciences of UCLA and continue to be a life-long learner of various things including history, religion, and contemporary politics. I taught many subjects to various audiences: Sunday school, Russian Language and Literature, Math, Inorganic Chemistry, Earth and Space Sciences (including Plate Tectonics/ Earthquakes). My love of learning was transmitted to my daughters one of whom is a Harvard graduate, and the other - Graduate of the Boston Ballet School and a dancer at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
I believe everyone has God-given gifts and should have a good teacher to bring them to fruition.

In my time, I had the greatest math teachers in Moscow (famous Math School #2 associated with the Math Department of the Moscow University). In the United States, I had the hands-on Semiconductor Engineering career. I also participated in the training of the American and Russian flight personnel of the International Space Station. I had a successful and very satisfying career in the technical field.
1) I establish trust and communication with the student in order to understand what he/she is struggling with.
2) I determine the student's goals (from completing a given homework to achieving success in SATs).
3) Together with the student and other concerned parties, I define the plan and schedule to achieve these goals.
4) We start working the plan: topic after topic, I explain the difficult material in the way I feel it is best perceived, absorbed and mastered by the student with a great deal of patience and respect towards the student. I approach each student individually depending on their learning style.
5) My students receive a lot of encouragements. I make sure their accomplishments are appreciated, and their confidence in their ability to overcome future difficulties is enhanced.
6) I love all my students, from 7-year-olds to adults, but I especially appreciate the girls who choose demanding technical professions.
