About Jade
I've written numerous curriculum pieces and exercise questions in high school and college-level math topics, emphasizing genuine and intuitive understanding of mathematical concepts. I have over a year of experience as a TA and Teacher for high-school students in extracurricular math classes at the SchoolNova Sunday program, and several dozen hours tutoring Algebra II, Calculus, and SAT Test-prep math for high school students.
Additionally, I constantly keep up with academic and professional research in math and science topics, from Alpha-Go bot theory to cognitive linguistics in everyday situations. As such, I understand topics as they are used in practical and human settings, and can come up with examples, analogies, and understandable reasons for studying all of the topics that are introduced to students in high school - it is my personal belief that teachers should have a working academic and professional understanding of the subjects they teach so as to understand how to make these topics relevant and efficiently understandable to a wide variety of students and interests.

I focus on understanding a student and their interests, and drawing from my creativity knowledge of practical examples to give analogies I believe will be relevant to the student. I always focus on making sure a student understands both why everything they learn is true or theorized as is, and why it’s relevant or useful to learn.
I prefer big-picture outlooks to learning: whatever one learns in school, even preparing for SAT, GRE, and final exams, there are common intentions that underlie the questions that tests ask, and understanding why teachers or institutions want you to learn will give you clues as to how to tackle their exams and even hint at effective tricks for mastering questions. Having myself studied the topics I teach and having my own organized personal notes that I’ve looked back on repeatedly over the years makes me confident that I can help organize a student’s thoughts and mind on their studies.
