About Isabelle

I was born and raised in France, where I began my teaching career before moving to California over 25 years ago. My personal experience as a foreigner learning English in a new country has shaped the way I teach. I know firsthand what it feels like to navigate unfamiliar sounds, grammar, and cultural expectations—and I use that empathy to support my students with patience, clarity, and encouragement. Language learning isn’t just academic; it’s emotional, social, and deeply personal. Over the years, I’ve taught in France and the U.S., worked in customer service and education, and built a life across those two cultures. I’m known for my professionalism, warmth, and strategic approach. Whether you're learning French for travel, school, work, or personal enrichment, I’ll guide you with respect and a commitment to your success.

About the lesson

As a bilingual educator with teaching experience in France and the US, I bring both linguistic fluency and cultural depth to every lesson.
Whether you're preparing for travel, exams, or personal enrichment, I’ll meet you where you are—and help you get where you want to go.
I tailor my lessons to each student’s goals, pace, and learning style. Whether you're a beginner or already an advanced speaker, I use:

Conversational immersion to build confidence and fluency
Real-world practice through conversation, reading, and writing
Grammar and vocabulary coaching with real-life examples
I use media—French songs, articles, comic strips and short videos—to make learning engaging and more fun
Cultural insights to deepen understanding and engagement

Gentle correction and encouragement to foster autonomy and trust
I’m not just a tutor—I’m a strategic partner in your learning journey.
