My name is Rodrigo Romão, since I was 15 years old I am a math teacher and very passionate about teaching and learning. The search for knowledge and the opportunity to transmit it was a constant in my life. Since high school I have been involved in several projects. Graduation was no different. I was a student in the first class of a new campus (the Federal University of Uberlândia - Campus Patos de Minas), I had the chance to help in the foundation of several academic entities such as DA, EJ and Atlética. I was a monitor for two opportunities. I did Scientific Initiation with publications in national and international congresses. In 2014, I was awarded a grant from the Science Without Borders Program where I studied and conducted research at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I returned to Brazil in August 2015 with a dream, to impact people lives through technology and education. In 2016, I participated in an initiative of the TIM Institute called Academic Working Capital, which aims to transform TCCs into Start-ups. This project was based on the teachings of Paul Graham of Stanford. Our solution, from two friends and mine, helped people in Home-care situations to have a better quality of life. The project was discontinued by an agreement between the group. But the search for technology and innovation continued with me. At an investment fair, I was invited to a project focused on Virtual Reality, even without knowing the technology, I accepted the challenge. In 2017, I was responsible for the end-to-end development of two Gear VR games. During the day he worked as a developer and tester and at night he gave voluntary math classes for a pre-university course aimed at low-income students. In this course, we obtained more than 30 approvals from a class with 40 students. The Start-up of games had growth potential, but the search for teaching spoke louder. Decides in 2018 to apply for the Master. I was approved at 3 universities, UFMG, UNICAMP and USP. I chose the latter because the scholarship is compatible with the cost of living in the city. I did research in Photonics, a field of study that one day will replace electronics. The research was carried out in partnership with the University of York and generated two publications at international conferences. Although the academic side was going well, my financial situation was complicated, I received 1200 BRL from a scholarship where 900 were spent on rent, my family was unable to help. So, once again, I had to pivot and return to the job market. During the last 18 months I worked as a trainee at Vivo, a company where I am currently a Customer Experience Consultant. Vivo's current CX program was internationally recognized for its quality, and was grateful to have had the chance to follow this project since its birth. Working as a trainee in a company that impacts 72 million Brazilians, was an incredible opportunity, I had the opportunity to participate in the elaboration of a framework to leverage the NPS, which consequently reviewed the entire life cycle of the Client. The actions implemented ensured a reduction of contact in attendance of more than 20%, a gain in NPS by 5 points and a reduction in disputes by 25%, directly impacting 4 million Pre customers. The program also had a postgraduate degree in Digital Environments and several workshops and immersions. I was fortunate to be chosen among the 10 best trainees in the program, which had 32 selected and more than 25,000 applicants. As much as there are many opportunities at Vivo, I still miss the classroom. A teacher once said: "when the teaching bug bites you, it is difficult to hea" I find that phrase a great truth. I have experience with Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Customer Centricity and Applied Electrical Engineering (Photonics: Laser, Optical Communications, Optoelectronics, Solar Panels).
