About Sehla
I am an experienced educator, Head of Department and university lecturer with more than 20 years of experience teaching Cambridge O Level, AS Level and A Level Sociology. I have also lectured at higher-education level since 2012. My academic background in Social Studies, Counselling and Educational Management has given me both strong subject knowledge and a deep understanding of how different students learn.
Teaching is more than a profession for me. I genuinely enjoy helping students make sense of ideas that initially seem difficult and watching them become more confident in their own abilities. I am particularly passionate about Sociology because it encourages learners to question assumptions, understand different perspectives and think critically about the world around them.
I want to extend my teaching to students who may need patient guidance, clear explanations and focused examination preparation. My greatest satisfaction comes from seeing learners overcome their difficulties, improve the quality of their work and recognise what they are truly capable of achieving.

My lessons are carefully planned around each student’s individual needs, level and goals. I do not believe in simply giving students information to memorise. I help them understand Sociology clearly, connect ideas and develop the confidence to express their knowledge effectively in examinations.
I explain difficult concepts in simple, accessible language without removing the sociological depth required for strong answers. Lessons may include topic teaching, essay planning, analysis and evaluation, past-paper practice, examination technique and detailed feedback on written work. I also help students understand exactly what Cambridge questions require and how to structure focused, well-developed responses.
I am patient, approachable and supportive, but I also encourage students to challenge themselves and aim for their best possible standard. With more than 20 years of experience teaching Cambridge Sociology, I understand that every learner progresses differently. My aim is to create a comfortable learning environment in which students can ask questions freely, overcome their weaknesses and gradually become more independent, confident and capable Sociology students.
