About Rose
I am educated to master's degree level and have worked for companies such as the Financial Times and Trinity Mirror as a reporter.
My teaching style is friendly and informal but - having previously edited professional journalists and writers - I have high expectations for my students and will not be teaching them to "jump through exam hoops" but hope to leave them with a lifelong ability to produce powerful and incisive written work.

I tutor English and History up to A Level and can assist undergraduates with essay writing and improving their research methods.
I specialise in written English, with a particular focus on style, vocabulary and grammar, but will tailor lesson plans around the specific needs of the student.
For GSCSE and A Level students I will also focus on ensuring they write in a rigorous academic style, as well as improving their critical and analytical abilities. I believe this not only helps students pass their exams with flying colours, but also lays a firm foundation for future academic success at university and beyond.
I can also help professionals improve their written English and have particular experience editing non-native English speakers.
