About Ella
Hi! I’m Ella & I am theatre director, workshop leader, and acting tutor. I’ve had the pleasure of working with young people of all ages and experience levels, helping them grow in confidence and craft. I am a qualified Mental Health First Aider and hold an up-to-date DBS certificate. Alongside my teaching and tutoring, I work as a freelance Theatre Director and Facilitator with organisations including The Almeida Theatre, The Old Vic, Southwark Playhouse, the Arcola Theatre, Tender Arts & Education, and Eastside. My work spans designing and delivering a wide range of theatre projects; from educational and devising work to directing and theatre-making.

I support students in discovering new monologues (both classical and contemporary) and offer guidance for audition preparation for Drama Schools, Young Companies, and LAMDA examinations. My sessions are playful, joyful, and empowering. I love equipping actors with a creative toolkit of exercises they can use independently long after our work together. Having grown up acting myself, I’m always inspired to meet young people who share that same passion. I hold a BA in Acting (graduated 2019) and have since been working professionally as a theatre director within the industry. At the heart of my practice is a commitment to building confidence and fostering environments where individuals can truly flourish. I bring positivity, playfulness, and a strong focus on trust, encouraging risk-taking and creative growth. My approach to acting is flexible and responsive to each performer’s needs, drawing on a range of techniques including Stanislavski, Improvisation, Hot Seating, Text Analysis, and playful exercises that promote freedom and authenticity in performance.
