About Vivian
Vivian Polo has been an educator for 28 years. While studying at Hunter College, Vivian began working in early intervention with children on the Autism Spectrum. She was hooked. When reflecting on her work, Vivian realized what she enjoyed most was her students' progress as readers and writers. This led Vivian to the University of Virginia where she earned her Master's degree in Reading Education, with an endorsement in Gifted Education. Vivian proceeded to work in Albemarle County Schools in multiple roles, not the least of which was Literacy Specialist and SBIT (RTI team) Chair. Vivian was able to collaborate with a variety of teachers, explore best practices and new concepts, too. This in addition to being a graduate instructor and mentoring novice teachers across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Most recently, Vivian enjoyed being a My Teaching Partner, coaching teachers in facilitating student interactions and engagement in schools.
