I am a North Carolina licensed AP English teacher and experienced educator committed to helping students achieve academic excellence through rigorous, engaging, and personalized instruction. I specialize in developing strong writers, analytical readers, and confident communicators by providing students with the skills and strategies needed to excel in challenging coursework and beyond.

As an AP English and Early College English teacher, I believe every student can become a stronger reader, writer, and critical thinker with the right guidance and support. My lessons are personalized to each student’s goals, whether they need help improving grades, preparing for exams, strengthening academic writing, or developing creative writing skills.
My teaching approach is structured, engaging, and student-centered. I begin by assessing each student’s strengths and areas for growth, then create lessons that build confidence while developing essential English skills. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps and provide clear explanations, guided practice, and constructive feedback throughout each session.
A typical lesson may include reviewing previous material, introducing a new concept, modeling the skill, practicing together, and ending with independent application and targeted feedback. Students receive practical strategies they can continue using in the classroom and on future assignments.
I specialize in essay writing, literary analysis, grammar, reading comprehension, research writing, and playwriting. I help students learn how to organize ideas, develop strong thesis statements, analyze literature effectively, write with clarity and purpose, and communicate confidently in both academic and creative settings.
