About Ioan
I’m Ioan, a sixth-form student at Christ College Brecon studying A-Level Economics, Geography, and Biology, with predicted grades of A* in Economics and Geography and an A in Biology.
I’m passionate about Economics in every sense — not just as a subject but as a lens for understanding the world. I follow current affairs closely and love connecting what’s happening in the news to the theories and models we study in the classroom. That real-world curiosity is something I bring into every tutoring session.
I completed my Extended Project Qualification with an A*, researching ethical capitalism — exploring whether businesses can be both profitable and morally responsible. It’s the kind of big, complex question that gets me genuinely excited about the subject.
Having grown up living across Thailand, Australia, and Singapore, I’ve seen very different economies and societies up close, which gives me a naturally global perspective on economic issues.
I’m aspiring to study Economics at degree level and see tutoring as a way to deepen my own understanding while helping other students find the same enthusiasm for the subject that I have.

I offer one-to-one, hour-long sessions tailored entirely around what you need. Whether you’re struggling with a specific concept, want to grind through past papers, or need help structuring your 25-mark essays, we’ll spend the time where it matters most.
For A-Level students I focus on Edexcel Economics across all three papers, including the synoptic Paper 3 which many students find the most challenging. For GCSE students I build strong foundations in economic thinking that set you up well for the jump to A-Level.
Techniques I use depending on what you need:
• Past paper practice and mark scheme analysis
• Concept explanation and consolidation
• Essay and extended answer technique
• Diagram work and data response questions
• Real-world case studies to bring theory to life
• Exam technique and time management strategies
I won’t just talk at you for an hour — sessions are interactive, focused, and built around your goals. I know what these exams demand because I’m working through them myself.
