About Jathusan
I want to teach GCSE Maths because I am passionate about helping students develop a solid foundation in mathematics, a subject that is not only crucial for academic success but also for navigating everyday life. Mathematics teaches critical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills, which are essential in many aspects of life and future careers. I find great satisfaction in breaking down complex topics into simpler concepts, making them accessible and engaging for students. GCSE Maths, in particular, is a pivotal stage where students can build confidence and unlock their potential, and I want to be a part of that transformative journey. By inspiring a love for learning and showing the relevance of maths in the real world, I aim to empower students to achieve their goals and open doors to a wide range of opportunities.

My approach to tutoring GCSE Maths focuses on building a strong foundation in mathematical concepts, boosting confidence, and preparing students effectively for their exams. I begin by assessing the student’s current level, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and tailoring lessons to address their specific needs. Each session is structured with clear objectives, starting with a brief review of prior topics before introducing new material. I emphasise understanding over memorisation, breaking down complex topics into manageable steps and using real-world examples to make abstract concepts relatable. Interactive problem-solving is central to my teaching, where I guide students through questions and gradually encourage independent practice. Mistakes are viewed as learning opportunities, and I provide constructive feedback to improve understanding. Regular revision, exam techniques, and practice with past papers ensure students are well-prepared and confident in tackling exam-style questions. My ultimate aim is to empower students with the skills, strategies, and mindset needed to succeed in GCSE Maths.
