About Mercedes
With six years of experience as a voice teacher, I’ve developed a personalized and encouraging approach that helps students of all ages build confidence, strengthen their skills, and genuinely enjoy making music.
I’m a Berklee College of Music graduate, professional singer-songwriter, and music producerwith a background in vocal performance, songwriting, contemporary music, and music production. My musical education extends beyond Berklee: I’ve had the opportunity to study music in the Dominican Republic and Cuba and to work with Latin Grammy-winning composer and producer Javier Limón, gaining valuable insight into Latin music, vocal expression, songwriting, and musicianship.
As an active performing artist, I’ve performed across New York City and Mexico, including live venues, and television. I bring this real-world experience into my teaching, helping students develop not only their technique but also their confidence and artistry as performers.
I also have extensive experience teaching music enrichment classes to young children, creating engaging, age-appropriate lessons that incorporate music, movement, creativity, and play. Whether I’m working with a young beginner discovering their voice for the first time or an aspiring artist developing their sound, I adapt each lesson to the student’s individual needs, interests, and goals.
I believe every student has a unique musical voice waiting to be developed. My goal is to help you build technique, confidence, creativity, and musicality while making the learning process exciting and personal. Whether you want to become a stronger singer, write your own songs, improve your performance skills, or explore music production, I’m here to help you take your music to the next level.

Every student has different goals, so lessons are tailored to your individual needs and interests. Whether you’re preparing for an audition, pursuing music professionally, building confidence, or simply exploring music as a hobby, we’ll create a plan that works for you.
Lessons are available for all ages and levels, from beginners building their musical foundation to advanced students exploring songwriting, harmony, improvisation, and performance. For younger students, I use fun, age-appropriate games and creative activities to make learning engaging.
My goal is to create a supportive space where you can develop your skills, express yourself, and enjoy the process of making music.

Details
First Free Meeting
Everyone is welcome to a free 30-minute consultation call! This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss your goals and expectations for lessons, and talk about your musical background and experience.
After our initial meeting, if you decide to continue with lessons, you can choose between a 4-lesson pack or an 8-lesson pack.
Lesson Duration & Format
60 minutes per lesson
Virtual lessons available
At-home lessons: An additional $10–$30 fee applies depending on location.
Scheduling & Punctuality
Weekly lessons are recommended for the best progress and consistency. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
Lesson Packs & Policies
Lesson packs are designed to be completed within a reasonable timeframe to support consistent practice and progress:
4-lesson pack: Must be completed within 8 weeks
8-lesson pack: Must be completed within 16 weeks
24–48 hour notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.
Lessons missed without notice will count toward the lesson pack.
These policies are designed to encourage consistency, build momentum, and help you get the most out of your lessons.
