About Clare

I have been a primary school teacher and specialist French teacher for over 20 years. I am passionate about teaching and strive to help people enjoy their learning. When teaching French, I use music and singing which is well-known to be an effective way to teach languages. Lessons are inspiring and interactive and people of all abilities make rapid progress. Please see my website with more information and videos of children and adults singing:- (concealed information) I have had a great deal of success in teaching children and adults of all abilities. Many students have special educational needs. I teach elderly people in residential homes and they enjoy the lessons enormously. The songs help them remember their 'school' French which they find very rewarding. I always have very positive feedback from all students, young and old.

About the lesson

I am an experienced primary school teacher and specialist French teacher. I have a PGCE and RSA Certificate for Bi-Lingual Secretaries in French. I teach by singing songs with French lyrics that cover a wide range of topics. If you have a particular interest I can write songs about your chosen topic. Singing is a well-known way of promoting learning and will help you remember words and phrases long term. The lessons are fun and children and adults learn quickly and enjoy themselves a great deal. Lessons can be 20 to 60 minutes long and individual or group. I teach from beginner to above GCSE level with the focus on speaking and conversation. I teach all ages and I have regular Zoom lessons in care homes for the elderly where residents greatly benefit from singing and remembering their school French. I am a volunteer French teacher to migrants in Paris and Calais 'Jungle'.
