About Mae

Hi! I’m a French tutor with over 4 years of experience and a Bachelor of Education in French as a Second Language. I specialize in working with complete beginners, helping them build a strong foundation with patience and a sense of humor. My teaching style is playful and engaging, making grammar and vocabulary easy to grasp. I use games, skits, flashcards, and storytelling to bring lessons to life. Every session is interactive, encouraging students to participate, practice, and make mistakes without fear. I focus on helping learners gain confidence in everyday French communication, from greetings to simple conversations. I tailor lessons to each student’s pace and interests, ensuring learning feels fun and relevant. Humor and creativity are key tools in keeping students motivated. I love seeing students progress from shy speakers to confident communicators. My goal is not just to teach French, but to make the learning journey joyful. Together, we explore the language playfully, discover new expressions, and enjoy every step of learning. Learning French can be exciting, and I make sure my students experience that joy in every lesson.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on making French learning practical, engaging, and enjoyable. I emphasize listening comprehension to help students understand real conversations. Verb conjugation is carefully explained and practiced, ensuring accuracy in speaking and writing. I also introduce slang and idiomatic expressions to make communication feel natural and authentic. Lessons include travel-focused language, preparing students for real-life situations like ordering food, asking for directions, or interacting socially. I tailor each session to the student’s level, whether they are beginners or intermediate learners. Vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation are integrated through interactive exercises and real-life examples. For students exploring French for hobbies or adjusting to a new environment, I provide targeted support to help them excel. I encourage speaking, reading, and listening practice in every lesson. Mistakes are treated as opportunities to improve, boosting confidence step by step. I use games, role-play, and conversational activities to keep lessons lively and engaging. My goal is to help students communicate clearly, comfortably, and confidently in French. Together, we build skills and a love for the language, making learning meaningful and fun.
