About Julie
"Strict discipline often creates the most spontaneous musical freedom at the keys. I have taught 446 students over 12 years, moving them from uncertain starters to accomplished performers.
My instruction emphasizes chord voicing, dynamics and expression, and proper posture and hand position. I also cover jazz improvisation, pop and contemporary styles, and essential accompaniment skills. Teaching these mechanics to students remains one of the most enjoyable parts of my day."

"Stiff fingers often betray a lack of relaxation when you first approach the keyboard. Imagine the keys feeling like an extension of your own hands during a fluid, effortless melody. We spend 60 minutes deconstructing complex passages into manageable movements that allow for natural expression. My lessons incorporate specific drills to build your independence between the left and right hands.
