About Araaf

My name is Araaf, and I am an incoming dental student. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Natural Sciences through the Frederick Honors College and earning a 3.8 GPA.

I scored a 1520 on the SAT and a 490AA on the DAT. I know both tests well because I prepared for them myself, often while working or studying full time. I learned to study efficiently with what I had, and I teach my students to do the same.

Outside of tutoring, I work as a dental assistant at two practices. For students applying to dental school, I can also share what the field looks like day to day and what admissions committees look for. As I matriculate into dental school, I would love to become a mentor for pre-dental students!

I have tutored students one on one before, including English language learners. I am patient, organized, and focused on results. Every student gets a plan built for their goals and their schedule.

About the lesson

Every student starts with a diagnostic. Before our first session, you take a timed practice section so I can see exactly where you are losing points. We then build a study plan around your weakest areas.

A typical one-hour lesson has three parts. First, we review the questions you missed on your last practice set and find the pattern behind each mistake. Next, we work through one content area in depth. We finish with timed questions under real test conditions. You leave every session with a short assignment and a clear goal for the next one.

For the SAT, I cover Reading and Writing strategy, math shortcuts, and pacing for the digital format. For the DAT, I cover biology, general and organic chemistry, perceptual ability, reading comprehension, and quantitative reasoning. I also help you build a realistic study schedule.

My lessons are for high school students preparing for the SAT and college students preparing for dental school. I adjust to your timeline, whether your test date is six months away or six weeks away.
