About Haluka
I am a student at Queen's University for Concurrent Education. I recently finished my undergraduate studies for Honors Physics, and I am currently a teacher candidate working towards obtaining my Bachelor of Education.
I enjoy teaching because of its problem-solving qualities, but above that is the fulfillment it brings me. Being able to help someone learn, especially in a subject that I enjoy such as physics, is a great feeling. Sharing a passion in an educational matter is what drives me to teach and was a big factor in why I committed to becoming a teacher.

My lessons and techniques will revolve around flexibility, meaning I will focus on the student's immediate needs. Instead of giving a generic lesson plan covering the general content of the subject, I will concentrate on specific topics that the student is struggling in or interested in. This allows for no time being wasted on concepts that the student already knows.
A critical skill that I will use during sessions is my patience, not only towards observing the student's learning but also perceiving how the student feels. Frustration, anxiousness, or uneasiness when learning difficult content while under the pressure of exams and other assessments are very common. In that case its important to pace their learning, rather than forcing students to absorb more knowledge. A tutor's job is to understand this struggle, and find a solution in an efficient but not forceful manner.
My lessons will be for who are in Grade 11/12 level classes (for example, SPH3U/4U).
