About Nasreen Fathima
Hi, I’m Nasreen, a math tutor who specializes in helping K–6 students build strong confidence and skills in foundational math.
I focus on clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and designed to make math feel simple and approachable.
Even though I’m a high school student, that actually helps me connect with younger learners — I remember exactly what it’s like to learn these concepts, and I explain them in ways that make sense to kids. I’ve spent years helping classmates, siblings, and younger students understand math in a friendly, relatable way.
My goal is to help every student feel confident, capable, and proud of their progress.

I'm a flexible tutor who focuses on your child's needs and their abilities. I teach students that need help on math levels ranging from K-6. I teach at the Plainsboro Public Library on Saturdays and Sundays with 1 hour slots open from 10am-7pm. I also take online sessions from 9am-8pm. My ability to be flexible and patient, especially with younger students sets me apart from other tutors. My lesson plan includes the first 15-25 minutes spent teaching to concept to the student. I will use a slide show or white board to teach the concept depending on which method the student prefers. The next 5-10 minutes are spent working on 2-3 problems together, then the student will work on 2-3 more problems on their own for another 5-10 minutes and the rest of the hour will be spent with going through the problems they completed, reflecting on the lesson, questions and any other homework or worksheets the student needs help with. If the student or parents feel this lesson plan isn't working for them, I will change the lesson plan to their preferences. The materials I bring are pencils, pens, scratch paper, worksheets, and homework. I charge 10 dollars an hour during which I ensure I will help your student improve in their academic performance.
