About Javed
I’m Javed, a British Biology teacher with over 20 years of experience, and the simple answer to why I teach is that I genuinely love seeing people learn.
Biology has always fascinated me because it explains the world around us — from the smallest molecules and cells to the human body, evolution and the incredible complexity of life. What I particularly enjoy is taking something that initially seems complicated and helping a student reach that moment when it suddenly clicks.
My teaching career has taken me around the world. I have lived and worked in Vietnam, Taiwan and China, teaching students from many different cultures and educational backgrounds. Along the way, I have taught GCSE, A Level and IB Biology and learned that every student learns differently.
I’m not interested in making students feel that Biology is something they either “get” or don't. With the right explanation, patience and encouragement, I believe almost every student can make real progress.
I also want my lessons to be enjoyable. There is plenty of hard work involved in achieving great grades, but learning doesn't have to feel miserable!
After 20 years, I still get a genuine buzz when a student says, “Oh… now I understand!”
That is why I teach — and why I’m excited to continue helping students discover what they are capable of.

Biology that finally makes sense!
After 20 years of teaching Biology, I have learned that the best students are not necessarily those with the best memory — they are the students who understand what they are learning and know how to use it.
That is what I aim to develop in every lesson.
I am a British Biology teacher with a Biology degree, PGCE and QTS, and extensive international experience teaching IB, A Level and GCSE Biology, including AQA, Edexcel and Cambridge specifications.
My lessons are highly personalised, engaging and interactive. I use questioning, visual explanations, biological examples and carefully chosen exam questions to uncover gaps in understanding and turn difficult topics into something manageable.
I also teach students how to think like an examiner — recognising what a question is really asking, constructing precise answers and avoiding the common mistakes that cost marks.
Lessons are normally 60 minutes and are suitable for students from GCSE through to A Level and IB, whether they need support, exam preparation or are aiming for the very highest grades.
My goal isn't simply to teach you Biology. It's to make you confident at Biology.
