About Kaiya
I have always loved reading, an interest that has allowed me to develop my language skills further. Nothing makes me happier than spreading this joy of reading among kids around the world. Furthermore, reading is so much more than English; but a part of math, art, and more. As you advance to harder courses in AP Art or AP Physics, comprehension and logic are required to tackle all subjects. Even if it takes more time, I want to make sure all of my students take an interest and can see reading as a fun and useful tool.

I teach 6-9th grade teens. What sets me apart is not only my ability to speak Mandarin fluently but also incorporating other topics such as STEM, in my courses to interest young kids more. I like to keep periodic evaluations on several skills of students, such as vocabulary, reading speed, reading comprehension, and grammar. All of these skills are necessary for future examinations across all subjects, and I firmly believe that enjoying to read comes from being good at it. My typical classes start with a vocabulary game, the lesson, and then practice, with short intervals of activities for maximum retention and attention rates
