About Gideon
I have over 1500 hours of private tutoring including 500 on another platform and double that tutoring my own students. Feel free to contact me for references. I am passionate about learning and sharing knowledge. My curiosity about the world led to a degree in Physics and I began teaching soon afterwards. I first started teaching high school science classes in 2007 where I taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics and I continue to teach AP Physics and Calculus classes at a school in Southern California. I have several youtube videos up with me teaching, so feel free to look up the "Learning with Gideon" channel.
I developed the entire science syllabus for my first school including lesson plans, exams and laboratory work. Lab work included the double-slit experiment, Young's modulus measurements, acid-base reactions, protein denaturation, dissections and much more. I currently mentor students doing research projects and help them publish their results.
My goal is to increase your confidence in the material and equip you for success in science. I will give you the tools you need to thrive and kindle your passion for learning. I want you to really understand all the important concepts and be able to do the math. I will work with you at whatever your starting level is and bring you to mastery.

I like to begin by understanding where each student is starting from and what their goals are. I want to know the specific topics & content that they need help in. After that we can begin digging into the content and working through problems or teaching important concepts.
I use google meet for the video call and a persistent online whiteboard to collaborate on problems and teach. We will build on the whiteboard throughout the year and it will grow from lesson to lesson, becoming a powerful resource for your reviews.
