About Srilekha
Hi! I'm a PhD student in Electrical Engineering, and math has been my favorite companion for as long as I can remember. There's something deeply satisfying about the way a well-placed equation can unlock an entire idea and I've spent years chasing that feeling.
Now, I want to share it.
I started tutoring because I genuinely believe that most students who say "I'm bad at math" just haven't had it explained in a way that clicks for them yet. That's where I come in. Whether it's Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, or Calculus, I love finding that one angle, analogy, or example that makes everything fall into place.
I'm not the kind of tutor who talks at you. I ask questions, I listen, and I meet you where you are. My sessions are relaxed and judgment-free and there's no such thing as a silly doubt in my class.
Outside of tutoring, my days are spent doing research, reading, traveling and yes still getting excited about math.

My goal as a tutor is simple, to make math feel less intimidating and more intuitive. As a PhD student in Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay, I bring both deep subject knowledge and a genuine understanding of how students think about and struggle with mathematical concepts.
I believe every student learns differently, which is why I adapt my teaching style to suit each individual. For some, that means building strong conceptual foundations first; for others, it means diving into problems and uncovering the theory along the way. I listen before I teach.
I use a mix of worked examples, guided practice, and independent problem-solving within a single session
I encourage students to explain their reasoning aloud, which is one of the fastest ways to identify gaps
For topics like Algebra and Geometry, I rely heavily on visual diagrams and step-by-step breakdowns.
A standard session usually flows like this:
Quick review (5–10 min) — revisiting the previous topic or homework doubts
Concept introduction (15 min) — explaining the new idea with examples
Guided practice (15–20 min) — solving problems together
Independent attempt (10 min) — student tries problems on their own
Wrap-up (5 min) — summary and assignment of practice problems
Being a researcher myself, I don't just teach how to solve, I teach why it works. I want students to build real mathematical thinking, not just memorize formulas. I'm also patient, approachable, and genuinely enjoy breaking down hard problems into simple steps.
My classes are designed for school students (K–12) across all grades, whether you're just starting out with basic arithmetic, building confidence in Algebra and Geometry, or tackling Trigonometry and Calculus for board exams. I'm equally comfortable with students who are struggling and those who want to get ahead.
