About Maya
I am a dedicated and experienced tutor specialising in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology at GCSE and A-Level. I aim to inspire confidence in my students by creating a supportive and structured learning environment where complex topics are broken down into clear, manageable steps. I enjoy the sciences and have actively participated in academic competitions, including the Chemistry Olympiad, which strengthened my subject knowledge and problem-solving skills. My teaching focuses on improving understanding, exam technique, and independent learning through active recall and exam-style practice across multiple exam boards. I tailor each lesson to the individual needs of the student to ensure steady progress. I am currently studying MPharm (Integrated Master’s) at Newcastle University, with strong A-Level results in Biology (A), Psychology (A), and Chemistry (B). I maintain a professional, patient, and encouraging approach in every lesson.

My teaching approach is highly personalised and focused on adapting to each student’s individual needs. I aim to simplify complex topics in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology by breaking them down into clear, structured steps. I place strong emphasis on exam technique, active recall, and practice questions across different exam boards to help students build confidence and improve their grades effectively. I also encourage students to ask questions freely so lessons feel supportive and engaging rather than stressful.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students (typically ages 14–18) studying Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. I support students of all abilities, whether they are aiming to improve their grades, build confidence, or achieve top marks in exams. I also offer support for students studying across different exam boards, adapting materials and teaching style accordingly.
