About Yu-Chieh
I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of Birmingham, UK. Additionally, I have obtained a Diploma in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. I have extensive experience teaching Chinese to children and teenagers across various age groups. Mandarin
I prefer using the contextual teaching method when working with learners aged six to twelve. During a one-hour lesson, I start by setting a theme to immerse the learners in a specific context, such as ordering food or being at the airport. From these scenarios, I introduce fundamental vocabulary. Following this, I incorporate the gamification method by using games that interest the learners, such as matching games, to reinforce their practice. This approach helps make the learning experience more engaging and memorable.
