About Emmie
My name is Emmie Cohen. I graduated from Emory University in 2021 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Global Health Societies and Cultures on a pre-medical track. In 2020, I completed independent research on the intersection of food and medicine resulting in the publication of my book, How Food Heals. I have been EMT certified since 2019 and participated and held leadership roles in an array of clubs (such as Hillel, J-Health & Sitter Tree) and clinical and research experiences (such as volunteer positions for hereditary cancer communities and research positions at the Neurodegerative lab in Emory University's Hospital in the Geriatric division and at Winship Hospital, Emory's Cancer Center). Currently, I am working as an oncology consultant trying to bridge the market access gap in healthcare.

I personalize each tutoring lesson specific to each student depending on their weaknesses and needs. I like to implement a "I do, we do, you do" approach to teaching. Rather than just teaching the subject material in a "standardized approach," I believe watching students problem solve and catching their mistakes allows me to individualize my teaching allowing the student themselves to understand why the way they approached the problem did not work.
