About Emily
As a middle school science and special education teacher, I believe in a holistic, whole-person approach to learning, where the student's basic needs are met first so that they can focus fully on their academics. Meeting a student "where they are" emotionally, behaviorally, and academically is crucial in my teaching experiences.

Hands-on, kinesthetic learning opportunities that allow your student to move and get a "real-feel" for the sciences! I also love adding real-world scenarios to show why learning matters. Students will engage in conversations, scientific discussions, and learn skills to bring to future classes. I currently work with middle school grade students but have experience in 1:1 settings with students aged 6-18 years old, with varying academic and behavioral needs. I not only specialize in the sciences, but also have taught English, Math, Social Studies, History, and Social Skills. For adult learners, I am happy to tutor for PRAXIS exam preparation for PRAXIS 5001, The Middle School Sciences/Math/Social Studies. I can answer questions and assist in lesson plan preparation for alternate route and traditional route to teaching programs.
