About Smrithy
Hello! I'm a Johns Hopkins University graduate with a strong passion for mathematics and education. During my undergraduate years, I had the opportunity to tutor teenagers in mathematics, an experience that strengthened both my teaching skills and my appreciation for helping students achieve their academic goals.
I believe that every student has the ability to succeed when concepts are explained in a way that matches their individual learning style. I strive to create a patient, encouraging, and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
I work with students from elementary mathematics through Algebra, adapting each lesson to meet their unique needs and academic goals. Whether a student is looking to strengthen foundational skills, prepare for an upcoming exam, or gain extra practice, I am committed to providing personalized instruction that helps them reach their full potential.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will benefit them throughout their education. I take pride in being reliable, professional, and dedicated to every student's success. Watching students overcome challenges and gain confidence in their abilities is the most rewarding part of tutoring.

I tutor students from the elementary level through Algebra, adapting every lesson to each student's learning style, pace, and academic goals. Whether your child needs help mastering foundational concepts, preparing for exams, or gaining confidence in problem-solving, I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
My teaching approach focuses on building conceptual understanding rather than memorization. I begin by assessing a student's current strengths and areas for improvement, then develop lessons that reinforce core concepts through guided examples, practice problems, and real-world applications. I encourage students to ask questions freely and view mistakes as valuable learning opportunities.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material, followed by instruction on new concepts, interactive problem-solving, and independent practice to ensure mastery. I conclude each session by summarizing key takeaways and providing recommendations for continued practice when appropriate.
What sets me apart is my ability to adapt to each student's preferred learning style. Whether a student benefits from visual explanations, step-by-step instruction, or additional practice, I tailor my teaching methods accordingly. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students develop the confidence and analytical thinking skills that will benefit them throughout their academic journey.
Lessons are available for elementary and middle school mathematics, pre-algebra, Algebra I, and students seeking to strengthen their mathematical foundations. I welcome learners of varying skill levels, from those needing extra support to those looking for additional challenges.
