About Isabelle
I am Isabelle, a Durham University graduate who enjoys tennis, rowing, and swimming. I went to Altrincham Grammar School for Girls and achieved the highest A-Level Scores in the cohort (A*s in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science). I have the most knowledge of maths so most keen to teach that, although I have good knowledge of all things involving STEM! I can teach up to an A-Level standard as I hold a degree. At school, I gained a Distinction in the BEBRAS Cambridge University Computer Science Challenge, Gold award every year in the UKMT, and a silver award in the Senior Kangaroo Maths Challenge. I was a STEM mentor at school and have tutored family members. I passed the Cambridge Maths interview and scored well on the STEP (grade 2 in both tests), so I can assist with preparation for university admissions tests/interviews.

Key Point: PAST PAPERS - these are the key to high marks.
My goal is to create a warm, high-achieving environment where no question is too small and no concept is too challenging. I believe that with dedication, academic rigour, and the right support, any student can master any topic. In my lessons, we go at a careful, deliberate pace, ensuring there is zero confusion before we move on. I love using relatable analogies to break down complex ideas, and I often encourage students to explain topics back to me, which is one of the most powerful ways to truly cement understanding.
To keep our lessons organised and productive, we will use a "confusion notebook" method. Whenever we hit a tricky concept or a lingering doubt, we write it down immediately, then dedicate time at the end of the lesson to research, discuss, and conquer those questions together. When it comes to exam preparation, we will work extensively through past papers. Rather than simply copying down mark schemes, we focus on deeply understanding the logic behind every single answer so you can apply those skills independently in a test environment.
Above all, I bring patience, kindness, and constant encouragement to every session. Learning can be challenging, and students need to feel safe to stumble and ask questions without fear of judgement. I strive to make our lessons a supportive space where making mistakes is celebrated as a vital step towards building genuine confidence and achieving top marks.

This price is based off the current adverts on this website. As a graduate from Durham University in a very difficult degree, this is a very reasonable fee considering the time for preparation, and the potential travel costs.
