About Amoo

I am a passionate educator with a strong academic background in Biochemistry and several years of teaching experience. My journey in education began in Nigeria, where I worked as a primary school teacher at WAHADATUL ISLAM SCHOOL from 2006 to 2012. During this period, I developed a deep interest in understanding how children learn and how teachers can make learning enjoyable, meaningful, and memorable.

My own educational journey has shaped the kind of teacher I want to be. I grew up in an environment where access to education was not always easy, and I personally experienced the challenges of balancing work and education. After completing secondary school, I spent seven years waiting for the opportunity to attend university. Despite these challenges, I never abandoned my ambition to learn. Eventually, I earned my first degree in Biochemistry and later returned to university to pursue further education.

Because of my experience, I understand that every student has a different background, learning ability, and level of confidence. I believe a good teacher should not only deliver lessons but also inspire students to believe in themselves. My approach is to make learning interactive, relatable, and connected to real life. I particularly enjoy teaching science because subjects such as biology allow students to understand their own bodies, nature, the environment, and the world around them.

I also believe that students should feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Rather than making children afraid of difficult subjects, I encourage them to see challenges as opportunities to discover something new.

My goal as a teacher is therefore not simply to help students pass examinations, but to develop curiosity, confidence, critical thinking, and a genuine love for learning. I want my students to leave the classroom knowing that their circumstances do not have to determine their future.

My own journey taught me one important lesson: **education can change a person's life when someone believes in them. As a teacher, I want to be that person for my students.**

# **Never Give Up on Learning**

Let me tell you a little story about a boy who loved learning.

I grew up in Nigeria, where going to school was not always easy. Education was expensive, and many families struggled to provide even basic things like food. Some children had to work before school and again after school just to help their families.

I was one of those children.

Before going to school, I would sometimes go to the market to help. After school, I would return to the market and work again. Life was not easy, but there was one thing I never wanted to give up on—**my education**.

After finishing secondary school, I had to stay at home for seven years because my family could not afford to send me to university. Seven years is a long time when you are young. During those years, I watched some of my friends get married, have children, learn trades, and move forward with their lives.

Sometimes I asked myself, **"Will I ever go to university?"**

But deep inside me, I kept saying, **"Don't give up."**

While waiting for my opportunity, I became a primary school teacher. I loved teaching children because I discovered something very important: **when you learn something, you have the power to help someone else learn it too.**

I didn't just teach because it was my job. I wanted to understand how children learn, so I went back to school myself and studied how to become a better teacher.

Eventually, my dream came true. I went to university and earned my first degree.

But I didn't stop there.

My love for learning had grown even stronger. I discovered that learning does not end when you receive a certificate. There is always something new to discover, understand, and explore. So I went back to university again and earned another degree.

And do you know what I discovered?

**Learning is not the enemy. Learning is an adventure.**

Take biology, for example. Some people may think biology is difficult, but I see it differently. Biology helps you understand **your own body, how you were formed, how plants grow, how animals live, how diseases affect us, and how the world around us works.**

When you understand what you are learning, it becomes exciting.

So, my message to every child here is simple:

**Don't say, "I can't." Say, "I haven't learned it yet."**

You may come from a family that does not have much money. You may face challenges that other children don't understand. You may even fail an examination.

But remember this:

**A difficult beginning does not mean a difficult ending.**

Keep asking questions. Keep reading. Keep discovering. Keep trying.

And most importantly, **never be ashamed of learning.**

One day, the knowledge you are gaining today may become the very thing that changes your life—and perhaps even changes someone else's life.

I started with very little, but I had a dream.

**Your dream can start today too.**

Never stop learning.
Never stop asking questions.
And most importantly—

**Never give up on yourself.**
