About Charlie
I'm Charlie - a PhD student researching alternatives to antibiotics with a little help from ants. I find biology a fascinating subject, from it's medical applications right through to the natural world.
What makes me a good tutor?
Academic performance: I achieved a first-class honours degree in Biology from the University of Bath, after achieving an AAA (including Biology) at A-Level.
Teaching experience: I have worked as a secondary school Biology teacher for a year and also have experience in tutoring. I have nearly 20 years of experience sitting exams! This has given me a well-rounded understanding of how to learn and how to teach. During my undergraduate degree, I also worked as a 'Peer Assisted Learning' leader, where I helped bio-science students in lower years to learn their course content.

Unfortunately, Biology isn't always made as exciting as it could be, but I aim to infuse my passion for this incredible subject into my sessions. I don't believe that there is a one-size-fits-all approach to tutoring. I will tailor my approach to help you achieve your individual goals, whether that's to practice your exam technique, understanding tricky concepts, or simply remembering all that information! Whatever it is, I will structure our sessions to suit your individual learning style. If you aren't sure how you learn best yet, I'll help you figure it out.
