About Isabelle
I am a kind, bubbly and enthusiastic person who wants to help every student achieve their goals. Chemistry can be a tricky subject, and when I studied it I found it difficult to get the support I needed just through classroom lessons. Therefore, tutoring for me is about establishing a safe environment where the student can ask questions, and go through topics at their own pace to help build a strong foundation of understanding.
I am reliable and friendly, and I will try my hardest to support you in every way I can. I understand how frustrating it can be to learn Chemistry, but I want to help you overcome all your problems one step at a time.

The first half of the first lesson is to establish where the student thinks they are at in chemistry and to generate some goals to work towards (such as a specific grade, a topic they want to understand or to increase confidence).
The second half is to start with some practice questions from different topics with a range of difficulty, so I can assess which areas we should focus on alongside with what the student wants to study.
A typical lesson would include:
- Explaining a concept or topic that the student is struggling with, and asking the student to write down the main points of the explanation.
- Going through some questions from the topic that we are focusing on in a timed environment - similar to an exam - so they get used to thinking under timed pressure.
- Talking about the answers and going through solutions and explaining anything they did not understand.
- Near exams, lessons would consist of completing exam papers for the first half and working through solutions and highlighting problems in the second half.
- We would discuss what topic we want to focus on the following week at the end of each lesson.
The lessons would range from 1 - 2 hours depending on the students availability.
I achieved an A at GCSE level and a B at A - Level.
I have no tutoring experience however I am patient, kind and understanding and I would love to help a student reach their goals.
The lessons are aimed at students who need to build the basics of chemistry to gain confidence in the subject, and for those who need a re - fresh in any areas they may struggle in. I am happy to work at any pace to help the student develop the skills they need to succeed!
