About Tommy
I’m Tommy, thanks for checking out my profile.
I’ve been tutoring since I was 15 and really enjoy it. It’s extremely rewarding to see students achieve grades they never thought they’d would achieve.
I’ve taught French, German, and Sciences but Maths has always been my favourite subject.
I have a degree in Mathematics from Aston University, and aim to have the answers for any level! I know every exam board in GCSE and A-level especially well.
My academic and teaching journey looked like this:
Aged 15 Started my first tutoring job as a “peer mentor” at school for Biology and Geography. This was 1:1 twice a week.
Aged 16 I held a language tasters class for French and German. This involved a lot of planning and training to become teachers who taught lessons to Year 6s. It epitomised as a day-event where I myself taught whole classes new languages for the first time.
That year I went on to do my GCSEs and scored the top grades in Maths and Sciences. After this I began 6th form, taking Maths, Physics and Psychology.
I began as a self employed private tutor in this time, specialising in Maths and became very busy owing to word-of-mouth.
This led into University where I took my unconditional offer in Maths, which I enjoyed before started my career in Venture Capital. I still love to keep up my tutoring.
