About Rehana
Hi, I'm Rehana!
I'm going into my fifth year of University having just completed an industrial placement at STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory working as a scientist! I'm a friendly university student with a passion for STEM subjects. I started tutoring after seeing how I helped friends and family build confidence in their academic abilities! As such, my ultimate goal is to help students become confident and achieve their own academic goals.
I've been tutoring for just over three years, and have had the amazing opportunity to connect with really incredible students and help them with their academic journey. I absolutely love it, it's extremely rewarding and heart-warming to see students ecstatic, achieving grades they once thought were impossible.

I highly recommended a brief free consultation to begin with in order to get to know each other a little better. This also helps me to gain an understanding of what you're looking to get out of our sessions and how I can best help you.
Lessons are typically an hour long and split into two parts. The first part is a revision or introduction of concepts and ideas that we will be applying and practising throughout the lesson! The purpose is to make sure the theory is understood, rather than memorised, which enables a student to manage practise and exam-style questions significantly better. It is in this part that we also address any areas of confusion for the student and start building up confidence in the topic.
The second part is where we begin applying what we have learnt through practise questions that vary in complexity and difficulty to challenge the student. We reinforce what we have just learnt by applying it to different scenarios; this builds confidence in the student's abilities to tackle questions that were once confusing to them.
I tailor lessons to each individual's needs as everyone learns at their own pace and struggles with different things! Usually for KS3, 11 plus and 13 plus, our first, and occasionally second, lessons are used to gauge student's abilities and areas of improvement. For GCSE and A-level we go through topics one-by-one starting with those the student feels least confident in. I emphasise building confidence as this is one of my most important goals when tutoring students. The more confident they feel, the better they perform under exam pressure and the less anxiety they experience!
