About Angus
With prior experience in mentoring GCSE level students in both Chemistry and Mathematics I am now looking to focus on providing private lessons in maths tutoring. Having studied both Mathematics and Further Mathematics to A-Level and beyond (throughout my first year of Physics at the University of Bristol) I have a firm grasp of concepts and an appreciation of various teaching styles to help communicate ideas clearly. During my final year of Sixth Form I dedicated time each week to working with the school's Learning Support department where I worked with students across a range of ages and ability levels.

I believe that a subject such as mathematics is best practiced through application. This generally involves the student working through questions to the best of their ability before reaching a point where their own understanding falters. This gives a chance to highlight what part of the theory or process has to be clarified in order for work to improve. In cases where a student is unsure of where to start with a given topic it is then important to explain the concepts and build understanding so that it can be applied as many examples as possible in the future.
