About Te Whaiwhaira

Tēnā tātou te iwi Ko wai ahau? Ko Te Whaiwhaira tōku ingoa He uri tēnei nō te waka o Tainui, me te rohe o Waikato. Greetings all, my name is Te Whaiwhaira & I am a descendant of Waikato-Tainui. I've come into this space because I would like to share my learnings and understanding of Te Reo Māori. Te Reo Māori is my first language and I would love the honour and privilege of sharing our native language with you. As a young lady, I want to make a difference in our ao Māori & would really love to open our language to the wider world.

About the lesson

I will be teaching us how to greet and let others know who you are, and where we come from. We will be learning a lot about whakapapa (genealogy). I will be moving a lot into teaching simple conversation starters and sentence structures.
