About Mahida

Hi! I’m a First Class Law graduate currently studying for my Master’s, and I’m passionate about helping students build confidence and genuinely enjoy what they are learning. Throughout my education and professional experience, I have developed a strong interest in supporting others and helping them reach their potential. I have experience in mentoring and working with individuals from different backgrounds, which has taught me the importance of patience, communication and adapting my approach to each person. I believe that learning should be about much more than memorising information for an exam. My goal is to help students truly understand their subject, develop their own ideas and feel confident expressing them. Whether a student is struggling with a particular topic, preparing for an exam or simply wants to improve their confidence, I will tailor my lessons around their individual needs and learning style. Most importantly, I want my lessons to be a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their skills without feeling pressured. I hope to help my students not only achieve their academic goals, but also develop a genuine appreciation for the subject.

About the lesson

I would begin each lesson by getting to know my student, understanding their current level, learning style, strengths, and any areas they may be struggling with. From there, I would tailor each lesson to suit them rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. My lessons would not simply focus on practising for exams or memorising information. My aim is to help students genuinely understand literature, develop their own interpretations, and build confidence in expressing their ideas. I want my students to discover what makes literature interesting and meaningful, so that they can develop a genuine enjoyment and appreciation for the subject alongside improving their academic performance. Lessons would be interactive and encourage discussion, with plenty of opportunities to explore texts, characters, themes, language and different interpretations. As the student progresses, I would adapt the lessons to focus on the areas where they need the most support, while gradually building their confidence and independence.
