About Samuel
I know first-hand what it takes to turn a struggling grade into a strong one; I went from missing top marks to graduating with First-Class Honours in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Nottingham. That experience shapes how I tutor: I focus on identifying exactly where a student's understanding breaks down and building it back up systematically, rather than just repeating content until it sticks.
During my degree, I led aerodynamics and fuel tank design on a group aircraft project, and my dissertation applied machine learning to hydrogen storage materials. So I'm comfortable teaching everything from core maths and mechanics to more advanced problem-solving. I aim to make sessions calm and encouraging, breaking problems down step by step so students leave each session more confident than when they arrived.

As a past student who had dyslexia I had to learn my own techniques for exams and revising that suited me best. This has allowed me now to look at what each student individually needs and change the teaching plan based on them. Typically my sessions would last 1 hour or longer, however, this can be changed to suit the student better if they are more productive in shorter blocks.
I have tutored GCSE students in the past, helping students go from a foundation paper to higher level maths. Throughout my aerospace engineering degree, I helped course mates with understanding complex mathematical (Stats and Mechanics) and physics problems.
These lessons would be suitable for all major exams (GCSE, A-Level, etc).
