About Supriya
I’m a graduate of Imperial College London and currently work in Banking. Alongside my professional career, I’ve always enjoyed teaching and helping students feel more confident in subjects they often find stressful. I’ve been through the rigorous education system myself and understand the pressure that comes with exams, deadlines, and expectations. This helps me relate well to students and parents, and approach lessons with patience and structure rather than pressure. I’m reliable, organized, and take my responsibility as a tutor seriously. I prepare for each lesson, track progress, and adapt my teaching based on what the student actually needs, not what a generic syllabus says they should already know. My aim isn’t just to help students “get through” a topic, but to help them properly understand it so they feel more confident going into exams. I create a calm, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

From my experience, most students don’t struggle because they’re “bad” at a subject. They struggle because things weren’t explained in a way that made sense to them. My focus is on slowing things down, filling in gaps properly, and helping students feel more confident. I adapt my lessons to the student rather than following a fixed script. Some students need more basics, others need help applying what they already know. I usually: 1. Explain concepts step by step, without rushing 2. Use exam-style questions early on so nothing feels unfamiliar 3. Focus on understanding rather than memorizing 4. Share simple methods and exam tips that actually save time I always encourage questions and adjust the pace if something isn’t clear. Lessons usually start with a quick check-in or recap. Then we work through new material together with examples, followed by practice questions. Towards the end, I’ll summarize the key ideas and point out common mistakes to avoid. If homework is useful, I’ll set it, but I don’t overload students.
