About Jajati

I am an experienced IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Chemistry Tutor with over five years of teaching experience, specializing in international curricula including IB DP, AP Chemistry, IGCSE, and Cambridge (CAIE). I have also served as an Associate AP Chemistry Tutor at UC Scouts, where I mentored students through rigorous college-level chemistry coursework.

In addition to international curricula, I have worked as a Chemistry Faculty for JEE aspirants at coaching institutes, helping students strengthen their conceptual understanding and achieve success in highly competitive entrance examinations.

My teaching experience spans a wide academic range—from Grade 9 students to undergraduate university students. I am comfortable teaching both foundational and advanced chemistry, tailoring my lessons to suit each student's learning style, academic goals, and curriculum requirements.

Over the years, I have taught students from across the globe, including Canada, the United States (including California), the United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Russia, Germany, Japan, and several other countries. This international exposure has enabled me to adapt my teaching methods to diverse educational systems and learning preferences.

I am also proud to be recognized as one of the Top 10 Featured Chemistry Tutors in India on the Superprof platform, reflecting my commitment to delivering high-quality, student-focused instruction and consistently helping learners achieve academic excellence.

My teaching philosophy is centered on understanding rather than memorization. I believe that once students grasp the underlying principles and mechanisms, chemistry becomes logical, intuitive, and enjoyable.

My teaching methodology includes:

* Strong Foundation Building: I begin with the fundamental concepts to ensure students have a solid base before progressing to advanced topics.

* Rigorous Conceptual Analysis: Every topic is explored in depth, emphasizing why and how concepts work rather than simply learning formulas or reactions.

* Mechanism-Based Teaching: Whether it's organic reactions, physical chemistry, or inorganic chemistry, I focus on the underlying mechanisms and reasoning to develop true conceptual clarity.

* Memory Enhancement Techniques: I incorporate scientifically proven memory tools, mnemonics, visualization strategies, and logical associations to help students retain complex information effectively.

* Interactive Digital Learning: I use digital tools, AI-generated demonstrations, animations, molecular visualizations, and simulations to simplify abstract concepts and make learning engaging.

* Regular Assessments: Weekly or fortnightly quizzes and tests help track progress, reinforce learning, identify weak areas, and build examination confidence.

* Personalized Mentorship: Every student learns differently. I adapt my teaching style, pace, and problem-solving approach according to each student's strengths, weaknesses, and academic goals.

My objective is not just to help students score high marks, but to develop a deep conceptual understanding that enables them to confidently tackle any chemistry problem they encounter.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Chemistry has always fascinated me as a child. I used to wonder how the molecules rearranged themselves to form a vast array of substances. My keen interest in the composition of matter and its molecular interactions inspired me to pursue my degree in Chemical Sciences from NIT Rourkela. I have always heard my classmates and students claim that Chemistry was all about memorizing and mugging the information. I was always perplexed because I knew that those who understand the underlying mechanisms and core principles of this subject will always find it perfectly logical and predictable. I want to help young minds to develop a sound understanding of the foundational concepts of chemistry so that it will no longer be a subject of rote-learning but rather a very logical and interesting field of science.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

Teaching has been my passion since my childhood. Cracking tough competitive exams like JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, KVPY, and NEST, without any formal coaching has made me realize the importance of a good teacher in life. Doing it all alone was very tough task for me, and I know exactly the areas where students stumble across and need support.
Now that I have the skills and capabilities to teach, I am very much willing to share my knowledge to the students and guide them through the process.
  • How does your work help society?

Teaching and encouraging students to learn about chemistry and other natural sciences helps me to foster scientific temperament among young minds and encourage them to pursue a research career where they can use their knowledge and help our society progress further scientifically and technologically. My work helps to remove the anxiety from the minds of the students who view science and mathematics as tough subjects. By teaching them with compassion and the correct teaching methods, I make them grow fond of scientific topics and explore these fields further as their career option.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

Abdul Kalam, India's "Missile Man is my role model. He embodies resilience, humility, and innovation. His journey from a humble background to the presidency inspires countless individuals globally. Kalam's dedication to science and education, coupled with his deep-rooted patriotism, transcends borders. His simplicity and approachability endear him to millions, fostering a culture of inclusivity and accessibility in leadership. Through his visionary leadership, he emphasized the importance of youth empowerment and societal progress. Kalam's legacy resonates as a beacon of hope, reminding us to dream big, persevere through adversity, and serve humanity selflessly, making him an exemplary role model for generations to come.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

I am a passionate singer. I have been trained in classical music for 2 years. I also play guitar. I am fond of watching Sci-fi movies and Anime. I am also a writer and I am writing my manga currently.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

I hail from Bhubaneswar which is known as KOTA of Odisha. So basically it is a hub of coaching industries. During my coaching days in class 11th, there was a famous teacher in chemistry called KK. Everyone was a fan of his KK coaching classes. I was preparing for KVPY exams at that time and wanted to finish my syllabus of chemistry in 3 months. When I went to his coaching with my father, he straight away denied the fact that the syllabus could be finished in 3 months. He rather asked me to join his coaching classes for the whole year to learn chemistry properly. He also said that only the smartest kids could complete the syllabus in such short time frame, and I was not one of them. I looked at my father and signaled him to leave.

I returned to my home and took it as a challenge to finish everything within less than 3 months. I was successful and finished the entirety of the chemistry syllabus by myself in 3 months, not only did I clear the first round of KVPY, but also my final scores in chemistry for all the phase tests in FIITJEE were higher than all of KK's students.
