About Thorin
I am passionate about helping students excel in Maths and Physics, and I bring both a strong academic background and a friendly, approachable teaching style to my lessons. I hold Master’s degrees in Physics from the University of Manchester and in Science and Technology Studies from University College London (UCL), where I was awarded a prestigious AI Ethics Scholarship from DeepMind.
Beyond my academic credentials, I have several years of tutoring experience, working with GCSE and A-Level students to help them build confidence and achieve success. I enjoy breaking down complex topics and making them accessible, using a clear, step-by-step approach to support each student’s individual learning needs.
I believe in fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment, where curiosity and critical thinking are at the heart of every lesson.

My lessons focus on making challenging concepts in Maths and Physics accessible and engaging for GCSE and A-Level students. I use a methodical, step-by-step approach to break down complex ideas, tailoring my teaching to each student’s learning style and pace.
Lessons are typically 60-90 minutes long and include specification-appropriate exam questions for practice. I believe in regular feedback and adapting lessons based on progress. My goal is not only to help students understand the subject but also to build their confidence and problem-solving skills through engaging, interactive learning.
With Master’s degrees in Physics and Science & Technology Studies, and a Scholarship from Google DeepMind, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise and personable communication to each session.
