About Philippe

I have been playing tennis for the last 39 years and coaching/ teaching for the last 27 years. I am passionate about tennis and I am as passionate about working with beginners as I am with high performance athletes and everyone else in between.

Over the years, I have seen children shine through competition, but I have also seen them suffer, cry, doubt their ability, self-worth and ask why? I have felt that pain myself as an athlete and a coach/ teacher. I developed a performance model based on my experiences and a group of philosophies that allow athletes to develop and compete positively.

My goal is to make tennis a positive life long sport for everyone may it be recreational or competitive. Regardless of skill level, I look to elevate a game in a holistic fashion, by integrating technical and competitive skills.

My MISSION is quick to learn, quick to play, quick to have fun.

My VALUES are positive reinforcement and feedback.

Here are some of my personal highlights:

Top 10 mens in Canada - 1996

Highest ATP ranking was 973

Hitting partner for several WTA and ATP athletes ranging from a top 10 ranking to 1,000

I have lived the "Florida academy life" - strong understanding of the pros and cons of the environment and the industry.

Played NAIA for Union University, TN (top 5 team in the nation, All American).

I have worked with athletes of all ranges (beginners, nationally ranked athletes to professionals).

I am certified PTR Professional 10 and under.

I provide private and group lessons in Middleville, Michigan, but I can travel outside the area. I am geared towards the youth, from beginners to high performance athletes, but adults are more than welcome.
