About Christian A
Chris Walczyk is a professional tennis instructor with over 7 years of experience teaching children and adults. As a former trainee at several tennis clubs and academies throughout the Tri-state area, some of which include Hardscrabble Club's (TTP) Academy, the Poughkeepsie Tennis Club (PTC) and Marist College training programs, Chris is highly knowledgable by teaching his students through the ways he's been taught by some of the most elite coaches in the New York State.
Chris's professional accomplishments in the world of tennis include a top 40 ranking in New York State on: Tennisrecruiting.net (2014), out of over 200 competitors, along with a top top 90 ranking in the Eastern Section of the United States Tennis Association (2013), out of roughly 12-hundred competitors).
STANDARD RATES:
30 MINS - $50 (plus $10-per-student) for a group lesson
1 HOUR - $60 (plus $10-per-student for a group lesson
1 & 1/2 HOURS - $80 (plus $10-per-student for a group lesson)
2 HOURS - $100 (plus $10-per-student for a group lesson)
JUNIOR RATES:
If student is 10 years old or younger, the lesson price will be exactly $20 less (by the hour)
TRAVELING RATES:
$2 per mile to comute to and from well-maintained courts in your area to meet your convenience.
As a young teaching pro, I will never over instruct my students. I will enhance what you’ve already got by fixing bad habbits and introducing new skills to help you reach the levels you never thought possible.
During an introductory session, I will offer a 1 to 2 hour lesson during which time I will get to know you on a slightly personal and instructional level. I will first hit with you for 5 to 10 minutes without any comments or corrections, and then will briefly ask what he or she is interested in improving.
I will also make accurate technical corrections in your game (footwork, grip, swing speed, placement, follow-through, striking point, etc.) and will eventually introduce skills and strategies to enhance and improve your ability to play points, games and eventually a full set or match.
I began teaching four (10 and under) students and their mother, Michelle, at the LaGrange Middle School and Arlington High School tennis courts in 2011
Over the next 6 years my clientele grew to over 15 families in the Hudson Valley and in Connecticut.
1. Hardscrabble Club: Tournament Training Program (TTP) in Brewster, NY (2012-2013)
2. Poughkeepsie Tennis Club (PTC): 30+ Training sessions with former ATP circuit pro (Bob Jurgeliet)
3. Marist Collage Tennis Team (NCAA Division 1): Training sessions with Tim Smith and student athletes - summers (2011-2015)
4. Taconic Sport and Raqcuet: 20+ training sessions and internships (summer of 2016 though spring of 2017)
