About Kari
I am a part time university student who has been tutoring for many years. What started as just helping my younger siblings with their homework quickly grew into also helping their classmates, then my own, then all ages at the elementary and high school levels. I always had a quick understanding of math and science and discovered I also had a knack for teaching it and making it exciting and interesting even to those who thought they could never be "math people".

My teaching methods vary student to student. Every child learns differently and I find that most who are struggling just need someone to show them the material in a different way. I like to take the time to get the know my students, find out their learning methods, and adjust accordingly. I make things hands on when I can, use visuals and images, and encourage true understanding, rather than just memorizing. Also, lots of practice and repetition, practice makes perfect!
