Took my family of 6 for a family surfing lesson. Instructors were knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. With ages ranging from 56 (I'm the old man) to my son at 20 years old, the Waves Hawaii Team had their hands full but were extremely patient and helpful. Got everyone up within a few waves and catered to each individual's ability. Waves varied in size but were very easy to learn on and everyone had a lot of fun. If you want to learn to surf and have fun - this is an excellent option.

Great experience. The instructors were amazing. I had my two children (3 and 5 y/o) taking lessons also. They made sure the kids were safe and having fun. We all stood up and were surfing from the get go. They even helped other people taking lessons from other companies to ensure everyone had a great time. I would recommend them!

Everyone had a blast. Eddie is the best and worked individually with each of us... we had four people in our family- each one a different level surfer from never before to more experienced- Eddie had something for everyone. Give them a call and catch some waves.

My kids (ages 9 and 11) had a fantastic time learning to surf. We've been to Hawaii 10 times now, but this is the first time for surfing. We were a little hesitant at first due to safety concerns, but we had heard good things from our friends (who were also on this trip) and decided to sign our kids up for the semi-private lessons. We were so glad that we did. Fernando, the kids' instructor, put us at ease and took extra care to ensure that our youngest one was safe. With his encouragement and expert instruction, our kids were up on their boards and catching waves in not time at all! They loved it so much that we came back for more a couple days later and I even joined them. Thanks again Waves Hawaii. You provided a very professional service and we have memories that will last a lifetime. BTW, Matias took some excellent pictures...much better than any that I could have taken from the shore. I would highly recommend.

As an aside, if we were to do it again, we would sign up for the 3 day package and do it early in our trip.

We had the best time surfing with Waves! Our instructor, Eddy, was extremely helpful and patient and worked with each of our individual skill levels. He would also crack jokes with us and made the entire experience a blast from start to finish! We loved it! Thanks also to Inaldo for for cheering us all on and for taking phenomenal pictures and making us all look good! I would definitely surf with them again if I’m back in Kihei! Ashley was an amazing instructor for my 10yo. He had a super fun time and she was very professional and skillful. Very happy with the class and experience!

Top 10 experiences of my life! Everything from start to finish was 5 star with this surf school. We were 3 adults and 2 kids (ages 5 and 8). We all had a blast. Val was helpful in suggesting the appropriate number of instructors and what to expect for the lesson. The photography package is a must! We love our photos of our amazing day. Eddie is the MAN! Great lesson for this 41 year old woman who thought there wasn’t a chance in riding a wave. He was absolutely fantastic. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Such a great experience from the time we booked the lesson, to the rash guard provided & the surfing lesson with Rory who totally put us all at ease with his skills and encouragement. We also loved looking at the pictures they get with all the action shots! Can't go wrong with this crew!

Ashley was awesome with my two kids. They were excited to catch a wave but had no expectations other than they wanted to succeed. It was a great time for them and they talked about it the rest of the day. Thank you Ashley for providing valuable instructions and giving them the opportunity to purse an activity they always wanted to. The photographer was out due to illness and she contacted another photographer in the area to get a few pics of the kids. That showed that she truly cared about their experience. I think we have 2 surfers for life in the family now ; )

Eddy is awesome. I've tried surfing in CA before and struggled. I was able to catch almost every wave he pushed me into. I felt prepared from the start of the class and he gave great feedback throughout. I'm a chicken with water sports and I felt super comfortable with his guidance. My experienced friend got to ride a shorter board and carve some bigger waves. If I ever get back to Maui I will definitely book a lesson with him again.

5 STARS!! My husband and I took a surf lesson this morning with Eddie and we had the BEST time! Eddie was a great teacher and had us up riding a board on the first ride. We can’t wait to come back and bring our kids. We made a reservation through the hotel but next time we come back we will totally be booking directly with Waves and hopefully get to surf with Eddie again! Also, a great option that’s available are incredible in water photos by Johnny. Thanks for an awesome morning!

100% excellent. I've had a few instructors in various places around the world and the team at Waves are the best. They're genuinely invested in see you progress regardless of your surfing level. Super amazing people to share time with too and will happily offer local tips for the area. If you're coming to Maui and taking a lesson book with Waves and have amazing memories. You won't regret it 🤙

Highly recommended! First timers with very little ocean experience at all and they loved everything about this experience. Eddie had them in the water and up on boards in no time and they had a blast! They also learned a lot about the island and ocean during the 2 hour lesson. Would definitely recommend and return again.
