About Yailen
I am a fluent Spanish speaker. Spanish was my primary language as a little girl, as I am the daughter of Cuban immigrants. Sharing a bit of my culture and language is an honor for me!
When I first started coaching cheerleading, the kids needed help with Spanish in after care. This inspired me to expand and help whoever I could with the language.
I have worked with kids, & have been teaching for the past 4 years. I have also served as a translator in the past.

First, I ask the student how they like to learn. If they don't know, I go on with the curriculum experimenting ways in which are most effective for the student. Aligning my teaching style to a student's learning style is very important for me.
I have worked with children, teenagers, & adults.
As I'm always mentioning already, it's not the fact that a teacher is fluent in the language, it's also the fact that they must align their teaching style with your learning style. Also, not everyone likes teaching.. you want to make sure you choose someone that is actually dedicated to helping you.
I am fond of when I had helped one student overcome this memory block they had... this helped me realize that everyone learns differently, & I should switch up my style of teaching.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should never hestitate in asking ANYTHING. No question is dumb, students should always be vocal about their needs to ensure they have a most efficient learning experience.
