About Jacob
I start off by focusing on the basics of firearms training and getting to know my students and their individual needs and strengths. From there we will build upon the basics and get you to a point where you will be more confident and self-assured with your firearm of choice.
I started learning and teaching firearms and self-defense in 2002 in the US Navy. After eight years, eight months, and seven days I transitioned to the civilian sector and continued my journey.
8 1/2 years as a Gunner's Mate First Class, and 11 years in the civilian sector with certifications from the NRA for pistol, rifle, shotgun, and concealed carry.

I always get to know my students with email or phone call conversations. To make sure we are a good fit together, I send out some emails with my teaching philosophy and how I approach teaching firearms.

Perfect! Jacob knew that we were rookies with firearms. He provided us pre-training material and focused on safety and handling. We will work with in the near future.
Perfect! Patient and teaching
Perfect! Jacob is an excellent instructor for your learning needs. He is always "safety first". He did not pour a lot of classroom theory with details. He observed how I shoot and made a few corrections, which greatly impacted my shooting. After few rounds of practice, I knew what I was doing wrong and was able to hit all my rounds in the bull's eye. I highly recommend him.
